Meet Dr. Kirstin Carlson
Dr. Kirstin Carlson grew up in Two Harbors, Minnesota, and is proud to now serve patients across the Northland. She’s always loved the life-changing nature of orthodontics and feels honored to help patients build self-confidence and joy through a healthy, beautiful smile. For Dr. Kirstin, forming lasting relationships with her patients is one of the most meaningful parts of the job—and seeing them light up with their new smile never gets old.
Dr. Kirstin earned her undergraduate degree from St. Olaf College with a major in Biology and a concentration in Biomedical Studies. She went on to attend the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, graduating second in her class and earning honors through the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. She completed her orthodontic residency and Master of Science degree at Marquette University.
Dedicated to providing the best care possible, Dr. Kirstin stays current with the latest advancements in orthodontics by participating in local, regional, and national continuing education programs. She’s an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists and the Minnesota Dental Association.
Dr. Kirstin and her husband, Dr. Luke Carlson, met during their time at St. Olaf and are now raising their family in Duluth. Outside the office, she loves spending time outdoors—hiking the North Shore, fishing, kayaking, golfing, skiing, and snowshoeing. She’s also a big fan of traveling and searching for agates along Lake Superior’s rocky beaches.
We’re lucky to have Dr. Kirstin as part of the Arrowhead Orthodontics team!
