Meet Dr. Luke Carlson

Dr. Luke grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota, and always had a strong interest in science, problem-solving, and helping others. While pursuing his undergraduate studies at St. Olaf College, he discovered that orthodontics was the perfect way to combine these interests. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota, where he graduated first in his class and was inducted into both the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.

Following dental school, Dr. Luke completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, earning both his Master of Science degree and his Certificate in Orthodontics.

Dr. Luke feels incredibly fortunate to be an orthodontist. He enjoys getting to know each patient, understanding their goals, and working together to create a confident, healthy smile—whether through braces or Invisalign®. For him, it’s deeply rewarding to watch patients transform and grow more confident with every visit.

He stays up to date on the latest in orthodontic advancements through ongoing continuing education and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists and the Minnesota Dental Association.

When he’s not in the office, you’ll likely find Dr. Luke outdoors with his wife, Dr. Kirstin, and their children. They love living in the Northland and enjoy hiking the North Shore, tossing rocks into Lake Superior, fishing, running, skiing, and golfing. We are so lucky to have Dr. Luke as part of the Arrowhead Orthodontics team!
